For
more details about how I work with you, please go to the
web site page, "Services"
Announce your ceremony
any way that
feels right for the two of you. Be happy and proud to print
your invitation to say any of the following in describing
your ceremony:
A
Commitment Ceremony,
Wedding Ceremony,
Union Ceremony or
Marriage Ceremony.
Express
Yourselves: Have your ceremony express in words, poetry,
music and symbols how you feel about one another, your hopes
and dreams for the future, your similarities and differences
and the journey that brought you both together. Please read
the section in this web site that explains more: "Services"
Your
Presentation: Both of you can enter the room together
or separately to the music or song you both love. As you
complete the ceremony, you can have one or both of your
parents or a special person in your life "present you".
Or I can write a presentation piece to honor this moment
in your ceremony.
Include
Your Guests: In addition to your own personal vows,
ask your guests to promise their love and support for your
union together.
Guests are also often part of special ceremonies that you
can include -
see below, "Ceremony Elements".
Put
It In Writing: Include the signing of a Commitment Certificate
after your ceremony. I will invite your witnesses and the
two of you to sign a certificate that formally acknowledges
your union. Your certificate can be a beautifully designed
document! If you like, it will be one you can frame and
hang in a place of honor in your home.
Ceremony
Elements: So much to choose from! This is where your
creativity and unique self can really play! Unity Candles,
hand-fasting, exchange of flowers, offering food; from special
readings to friends performing your favorite songs -
I offer you many pages of suggestions!
What to Wear: Wear what makes you feel good and comfortable.
Incorporate colors that you like into your ceremony -- include
in your invitations, attire and décor, if you like!
Let me know your style, and I'll do my best to complement
it as well.
Rehearsal:
Rehearsals are very important! We'll focus especially on
key parts like your entrance, the ring ceremony, exchange
of vows, and the recessional. Once you're comfortable with
what happens and when, you and everyone else in the ceremony
is totally free to relax and enjoy it on The Day!
Include Something Creative and Lasting: If you are
having an outdoor ceremony at your home, you could include
a planting by your guests in your garden so that the ceremony
is remembered from this day forward as love blooms! Or,
we can create a certificate large enough for ALL your guests
to sign. Other ideas welcome - they are part of the celebration!
